Job description
The Solar Superintendent will be responsible for managing all on-site activities related to solar installation projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong background in solar construction, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee the daily operations of solar installation projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise a team of solar installers and subcontractors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and standards on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and inspect work progress to ensure that installations meet quality standards and project specifications.
Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Maintain open lines of communication to facilitate project updates and address any issues that arise.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any construction-related issues promptly, coordinating with the project manager and engineering team as necessary.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, safety inspections, and quality checks. Assist in the preparation of project documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
Resource Management:
Manage materials, tools, and equipment on-site to ensure efficient use and minimize waste.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with at least 2 years specifically in solar installation or renewable energy projects.
Certifications:
OSHA 30-hour certification required; additional solar-related certifications are a plus.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of solar technology, installation methods, and construction processes.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a positive work environment.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
