Summary:

A leading international Solar PV developer are currently recruiting for a Project Manager for their Sydney office. This well-respected global leader in holistic Solar PV solutions has an impressive portfolio of projects across Australia and are seeking a Project Manager who will initially be responsible for the delivery for their most recent project large scale win in Australia.

The Project Manager will manage the project from approval of future projects, through to construction completion and handover.

This is a brand-new role for a well-respected organisation with an impressive track record of Solar development in Australia who have an equally impressive future growth plan.

 

The Role:

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

·        Preconstruction preparedness prior to notice to proceed:

o   provide practical inputs to scope of works, project delivery methodology and design;

o   provide technical advice and inputs to the development team

o   support in the preparation and management of RFP processes;

o   assist in the preparation and negotiation of EPC contract;

o   assist in the financial close of any projects;

o   preparation of construction management plans

·        Construction Management:

o   management of the owners engineer and site representative;

o   management of construction phase related consultant;

o   Review the overall contractual requirements for all projects and specific process design methodology for individual projects as required

o   reviewing the contractor’s site progress, safety management, quality, environmental compliance;

o   monitoring adherence to the site management plans during construction;

o   reviewing construction quality, inspection and test plans, site diaries and site documentation;

o   reviewing HSE plans with HSE manager and undertaking site safety inspections;

o   ensuring contractor’s compliance with conditions of consent relevant to the construction phase;

o   responding to technical RFIs from the contractor;

o   management of the generator registration process with AEMO;

o   site coordination of outages with NSP and contractor;

o   monitoring commissioning phase;

o   liaising with landowners, community, local council stakeholders;

o   monitoring the satisfaction of the financial and legal obligations;

o   developing and managing punch lists;

o   preparation of all weekly and monthly reports

·        Post construction (post practical completion):

o   reviewing completion of punch list items,

o   undertaking final inspection

o   draft asset management plans and procedures

o   providing effective hand over to asset manager

 

Qualifications, Skill and Experience required from you:

·        Project Management experience working on the client’s side of recent utility scale solar or wind projects in Australia

·        Good understanding of construction methodologies

·        Relevant academic qualification(s)

·        Understanding of the construction management process within a renewable energy business

·        Wider Project management experience and knowledge of project management processes

·        Report and technical writing

·        Time management

·        Self-directed

·        Good team player

·        An understanding the operations and maintenance requirements for energy assets
