The Opportunity

You will lead the development process for community, corporate and utility-scale solar projects within North America, working in collaboration with our clients; typical clients include financial investors and solar developers. Depending on the project scope and client’s needs, you will bring your holistic view of the development process to lead such tasks as those outlined below:  

The Role

  • Manage the project development process from early stages to completion; 
  • Lead the site screening, selection and pre-feasibility process; 
  • Provide technical negotiation support on land leases, grid interconnection and offtake agreements; 
  • Lead the permitting process, including outreach to community stakeholders; 
  • Oversee energy assessments and feasibility studies for proposed project sites; 
  • Lead discussions pertaining to site layout and basic design requirements in collaboration with engineers; 
  • Ensure site-specific compliance with regulatory requirements, such as environmental, wildlife, etc.; 
  • Manage construction RFP process, including technology and vendor assessment, selection and negotiation; 
  • In conjunction with engineering teams, review detailed design and construction drawings 
  • Monitor construction activities and coordinate technical inspections of project and main components 
  • Oversee verification of project at commercial operation 
  • Provide project sale or financing guidance; 
  • Facilitate end of warranty inspection to ensure compliance 
  • Liaise with on-site construction and engineering teams, serving as the owner’s representative. 

The Person 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering or related field; 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading project development and implementation for North American-based solar sites; 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with North American solar technologies and main component suppliers; 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ hands-on experience with similar areas of responsibilities as referenced above within community/corporate to utility scale projects; 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ professional experience working within the renewable energy or power generation sectors; 
  • Hands-on experience with all aspects of solar project development, from conception through commissioning. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing; 
  • Detail-oriented with deep analytical and problem-solving skills; 
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects at once; 
  • Service-oriented mindset; responsive, collaborative and a team player; 
  • Self-directed work style; driven to continuously improve processes and performance while working independently; 
  • Current authorization to live and work in the United States.
