Finance Manager - SPV Renewables



An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the Senior Accountancy function of a leading Renewable Institutional Investor. 

The successful applicant will work closely with the existing solar and bioenergy teams and the work will be a mixture of SPV and fund accounting. The finance function currently comprises four individuals and we are now looking to expand this. The individual may come from private practice, an administrator or fund/asset management background. Some appreciation of infrastructure/energy assets is an advantage. 




Fund Finance:


  • Assisting in the setup of new fund structures 
  • Working with fund administrators on ongoing accounts/reporting requirements 
  • Assisting with preparation of Drawdown Notices and Unit Calculations
  • Working on the tax structuring of the fund vehicles
  • Managing the review and completion of the funds’ statutory accounts and audit processes

Financial/Budget Reporting: 


  • Managing the monthly SPV management reporting and analysis
  • Monitoring budgets and preparing reports of actual figures against budget for monthly and quarterly reports 
  • Leading on the preparation of the annual budgets for the SPVs 
  • Managing the review and completion of SPV statutory accounts and audit process 
  • Managing the process for corporation tax compliance for the SPVs
  • Reviewing monthly/quarterly VAT returns for the Funds and SPVs 
  • Getting involved in ad-hoc and value adding projects
  •  Monitoring cash balances, reviewing payment instructions to ensure compliance with policies

Company Secretarial: 


  • Ensuring that the database contains all key corporate documents for the SPVs as well as board papers and company policies
  • Maintaining a database of director and company secretarial information for the Funds and SPVs
  • Maintaining the board calendars
  • Collating and/or preparing SPV board packs and chasing action lists after the meetings  



  • Maintaining the SPV electronic and original document filing system
  • Ensuring that SPV policies and procedures are up to date and regularly reviewed by their boards and advisers e.g. H&S, ESG 
  • Maintaining databases in relation to the SPVs e.g. reporting dates, HMRC deadlines etc. and ensuring deadlines are met 
  • Monitoring compliance with contracts
  • General administrative duties as required 


  • Previous experience in fund/asset management is preffered but not essential 
  • Working knowledge of SPV/Fund accounting requirements is a plus 
  • Must be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 5 years PQE
  • Excellent excel and financial modelling skills 
  • Comprehensive understanding of the renewable energy market
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
