Job description

Our client, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, is looking for an experienced Site Manager with an electrical background to oversee the execution of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects. This is a remote role with the flexibility to manage projects from anywhere in Germany. However, the successful candidate will need to travel to sites in Hamburg or Nuremberg every second month for on-site management and oversight.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of electrical works on-site while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Management: Oversee the implementation and progress of utility-scale photovoltaic projects. Ensure that electrical works are carried out according to plans and specifications.

  • On-Site Leadership: Travel to project sites every second month to manage and coordinate on-site teams. Ensure the safety of all site personnel and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Electrical Works Oversight: Supervise electrical installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities for PV systems.

  • Project Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and project managers. Ensure that project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including site reports, safety assessments, and progress updates. Report on project milestones and challenges to senior management.

  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth project execution, resolving any technical or logistical challenges that may arise.

Key Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualification such as Meister in Elektrotechnik.

  • Experience: Previous experience in managing utility-scale photovoltaic projects, with a strong focus on electrical systems and installations.

  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems, PV technology, and relevant industry standards.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and liaise effectively with clients and contractors.

  • Remote Work Experience: Ability to manage remote work responsibilities while ensuring on-site presence during key stages of the project.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites in Hamburg or Nuremberg approximately every second month.
