The Opportunity:

The Green Recruitment Company are currently partnered with a well-renowned integrated energy company with operations spanning electricity generation and the sale of natural gas and electricity to homes and businesses throughout the UK.

Over the last year, the company have made a strategic decision to begin offering gas supply products to UK Industrial & Commercial customers, leveraging their strong position in I&C electricity supply and long-standing experience selling gas to SME and Residential customers.

The gas project will establish the necessary system & process solutions, products, commercial strategy, staffing, enduring organisational structure and all other requirements, enabling the business to achieve first sales to customers by Q3 of 2022.

The Role:

As a Gas Product – Senior Manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring a successful launch of the I&C gas business. You will create and agree the plan with senior stakeholders (across I&C and the wider Customers business) and ensure that this is implemented in line with the agreed timelines and budget (exact budget £TBC), providing regular updates on progress.

Whilst the current project structure is still to be finalised , you will have 5 staff working directly for you full time on the project, with other staff available either on a full time or part time basis as required (from within I&C and the wider Customers business and Corporate functions). You will have the opportunity to influence this structure and resource allocations.

The Individual:

You’ll have a deep knowledge of the energy industry (UK or similar market) and will have the confidence and ability to manage complex projects that require multiple work streams to proceed simultaneously. Using your excellent organisational skills, you’ll manage projects to time and budget (or preferably below budget) and will be confident decision maker with the ability to make the best possible decisions based on the information available.

You’ll be an inspiring leader and will be comfortable leading employees directly and within a matrix type organisation. You’ll also have the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Customers business and corporate functions (in particular the Wholesale Market Optimisation (WMO) and Finance divisions who are critical to this project), ensuring buy in and support for the project.
