Summary:

A global engineering consultancy are seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their growing power systems team in Sydney. This role is born out of a strong pipeline of future work in the utility scale wind and solar industry.

Your responsibilities:

·       Performing Power System Modelling / Grid Connection Studies

·       GPS studies for proposed generator connections

·       Steady State Analysis (Short Circuit Analysis and Load Flow)

·       MLF and DLF studies on the NEM

·       Interaction with NSPs and AEMO

·       Guaranteeing compliance with NER and AEMO

·       Obtaining approval for the connection of new assets to electricity networks

·       Working within technical rules ensuring connections meet planning criteria

Skills, qualifications and experience required from you:

·       Minimum 5+ years’ experience in power systems engineering

·       Experience in grid connection for utility scale renewable energy projects

·       Steady stage and transient system studies

·       Experience in interaction with NSPs and AEMO

·       Experience in power system simulation software PSS/E, PSCAD & ideally PowerFactory 

·       Strong knowledge of NER

·       Bachelor's degree in Engineering, (Masters, PhD qualifications ideal)

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       Eligibility to live and work in Australia
