Job description
The Green Recruitment Company is partnering with a leading international developer with an exciting pipeline of renewable energy projects in development to find aSenior Legal Counsel(12 month contract) to join their Australian team based in Sydney.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer at a private practice looking to move in-house, or an exciting next step for a Legal Counsel to be at the forefront of the energy transition in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing, drafting, and reviewing the joint venture arrangements with our local development partners.
Drafting and reviewing project-related term sheets and main project contracts (EPC, O&M, PPA),
Assisting with securing project rights and project finance for a portfolio of renewable energy projects.
Identifying and implementing the corporate structure most suitable for a given project.
Managing and overseeing the legal, compliance, and governance risks in the energy market in the Australian region.
General legal support regarding large-scale renewable energy projects.
Provide legal, and regulatory advice and company corporate secretarial support from the shareholder’s perspective for all legal entities in the Australian region.
Provide legal guidance and advice to internal stakeholders in the Australian region regarding legal matters.
Your Profile:
Law degree from a recognised university.
6+ years PQE in a private practice law firm or as legal counsel for a renewable energy developer or in the energy of infrastructure field.
Experience supporting the development of utility-scale Solar and BESS projects in Australia.
Excellent negotiation, contract drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with land lease and land purchase transactions.
Experience in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements and experience with EPC contracts preferred.
