The Green Recruitment Company is currently partnering with a Global Energy business as they seek a Senior Legal Counsel, based in Malaysia, to support their growth and strategic business activity across multiple South East Asia jurisdictions, whilst helping lead and guide the Legal Team.

Your role:

• Provide legal advice on all contracts and projects including existing and new investments (development of greenfields and brownfields, due diligence), partnerships and commercial contracts in the South East Asian region
• Provide the legal support for internal approval process of projects (i.e. drafting legal memo, participating to project review meetings) and ensuring compliance of the projects with the relevant policies
• Drafting and implementing policies for the region
• Provide legal advice across the group of companies
• Ensure adequate legal reporting and sharing of knowledge
• Manage the external lawyers appointed for projects
• Provide leadership and guidance to the wider legal team

Your background:

• Ideally 10 –15 years of PQE
• Ideally top tier corporate law firms. In house experience is a strong plus
• Proficient in spoken and written English
• Diligent, independent, ability to challenge status quo and think outside of the box
• Qualified and called to either Singapore/ Malaysia/ Indonesian bar
• Cross border work experience is a strong plus
