Job title: Senior Grid Connection Engineer

Location: Germany (Remote)

As a Senior Grid Connection Engineer in the Renewable Grid Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing network infrastructures for both existing and upcoming renewable energy projects throughout Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Infrastructure Design:

    • Conceptualize and implement network infrastructures for solar, wind, and battery storage projects.

  2. Technical Evaluation:

    • Assess and create technical requirements, designs, and diagrams.

  3. Costing and Scope Definition:

    • Calculate costs and define the technical scope of projects.

  4. Project Development:

    • Contribute to the development and realization of renewable energy projects.

  5. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Engage with grid operators and other stakeholders.

  6. Compliance and Cooperation:

    • Ensure compliance with European technical norms, standards, and legal requirements. Collaborate with DNO/TNOs for grid connections and project optimization.

  7. External Services Oversight:

    • Monitor and coordinate external technical services.

  8. Documentation Management:

    • Archive and transfer technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in electrical network engineering, preferably in high and low-voltage systems, protection, cabling, transformers, switchgear, SCADA, system studies, network studies, or CAD construction. Experience in commissioning and operation of substations.

  • Focus on Network Systems: Demonstrated focus on network systems through academic work, internships, or academic achievements.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve complex tasks efficiently.

  • Communication: Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in German (highly desirable), minimum C1 level in English. Additional European language skills are advantageous.

  • Travel: Willingness to occasionally travel internationally.

  • Attributes: Independence and teamwork.
