Summary:

A leading renewable energy developer are seeking a Senior Grid Connection Engineer to join their growing Central Melbourne based Grid Connection team. With an impress project portfolio with Solar PV sites across Australia to work on in various stages of development, this is an opportunity for an experienced grid professional to full utilise their skill set on a variety of projects.

As Grid Connections Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the generator registration process from initial studies through to commissioning and on-site testing of the company’s Solar Farms across Australia.  You will have previous grid connection experience on renewable energy projects in Australia and be familiar with the Australian grid connection landscape. 


Other responsibilities: 

  • Analyse generator connection options/feasibility studies
  • Obtain PSS/E, PowerFactory, EMT models for Inverter and Power Plant Controller
  • Gather NSP data to model the NSP network
  • Network Modelling for generator connection using PSS/E & PowerFactory
  • Perform Static and Dynamic Network Analysis against NER
  • Perform Transient Analysis using EMT model in PSCAD 
  • Co-ordination with NSPs and AEMO 
  • R2 testing and model validation work
  • Ensure grid compliance during solar farm operation phase as required by AEMO and NSPs
  • Investigate and develop feasibility for storage systems
  • Assist Development Team with technical inputs in securing a project pipeline in Australia
Requirements from you:
  • Grid Connection experience in Australia on solar and/or wind farms
  • Power Systems academic background 
  • Eligibilty to live and work in Australia 
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • A keen interest in the renewable energy sector
