The Opportunity

TGRC have partnered with a Major Multinational Electricity Generator and Utility who are looking for an experienced 'Long Term Senior Energy Trader'.  The company have a core focus in renewable energy generation and distribution as well as Natural Gas. For this partiular position it is an absolute must that you have long term deal experience and ideally exposure and experience focusing on ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas). The successful candidate wil be responsible for hedging, pricing and trading for power and heat rate products for US power markets. The role will be based in Andover, Massachusetts however the business are willing to provide relocation support from other areas of the US if needed.

The Role

• Manage Term trading positions in ERCOT/SPP
• Generate positive P/L and capture market opportunities based on analysis of market conditions
• Develop and maintain market research tools and market analysis
• Demonstrated profitable success trading a book of power
• Coordinate with structuring and origination team to identify, negotiate and implement desirable trading positions
• Work as a member of the trading team to manage trading portfolios

The Person 

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of fundamental market conditions and drivers impacting the main power hubs, including Natural gas and Heat Rates
• Bachelor’s degree required (Economics, Finance or Technical degree preferred),
• Advanced Degreed desired
• In-depth market knowledge with in OTC forward market, physical and financial
• 6 to 8 years’ experience in trading, asset management or similar positions with previous experience in ERCOT
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a group
• Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
• Good understanding of business processes and data management
• Will require full knowledge of functional responsibilities of all groups/individuals within the organization
