The Client:

TGRC are working alongside a global energy firm that generates, trades and markets power on a large scale. The business procures, stores, transports and supplies commodities including nat gas, LNG and coal, alongside energy-related products. The business operates in more than 40 countries and is one of the leading names in the energy industry globally. 

The Role:

The team is responsible for delivering all aspects related to the Trade Life Cycle for the Gas and Power trading domains in multiple Endur systems. The team is the trusted partner for all Business stakeholders e.g. Front Office, Risk Management, Middle and Back Office.

  • Responsible for the complete Trade Life Cycle (Power and Gas, UK and Global)
  • Follow standard IT project delivery processes
  • Identify and engage with the stakeholders to classify, document and engineer requirements
  • Lead and facilitate workshops with various levels of stakeholders across the organization from Operational to Director Level
  • First point of contact for Business to be consulted on requirements
  • Work in an international, multi sourced team of Business Analysts and Developers in global distributed delivery model
  • Help to identify and design proper IT-solutions (Solution evaluation & recommendations)
  • Have a holistic view of solutions and understand the wider impacts
  • Challenge requirements and provide alternative solution options (cost/benefit analysis)
  • Be an integral part of the “Business Analyst Community” and help lead and drive best practice within the business

The Individual:

  • Educated to Degree level with a preference for a Masters in either Computing or Engineering
  • Ideally hold a professional qualification in Project management or Business analysis. i.e. PMP or CBAP
  • Deep knowledge of Gas and Power Trading Trade Life Cycle process, additional commodities experience is a plus
  • Proven experience as Business Analyst
  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of OpenLink Endur
  • The ability to understand AVS/ JVS and OpenComponents and work with developers on technical solution designs
  • Be able to lead other Business Analysts and Developers including those working offshore
  • Strong analytical mindset with an ability to manage complex dependencies in a structured and systematic way
  • Experience in driving and delivering change (taking ownership with a commercial focus)
  • Ability to facilitate team discussions to solve technical challenges, especially when they involve negotiation between multiple business or technical stakeholders
  • Proven capability for efficient stakeholder communication and management
  • Be a self-starter
  • Must have worked and steered offshore teams
  • Must have owned significant project deliverables in large programs
  • Must have created and supported test case and User Acceptance Testing
  • Strong team player, able to demonstrate experience of working in an international team
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of additional languages would be a plus
