THE OPPORTUNITY:

An exciting brand new vacancy is available for an experienced renewable energy Asset Manager looking for their next challenge. The role is a result of portfolio and team growth, and would be leading the division with four direct reports. 

 

​THE ORGANISATION:

My client are an industry leading fund who invest across a number of different sectors. Their energy and infrastructure portfolio holds extensive renewable assets, and due to high growth, now requires a strong Senior Asset Manager to lead this part of the business from a strategic and commercial perspective.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


The main responsibilities are:

  • Develop and maintain all external strategic relationships including service providers such as Operations and Maintenance, developers, contractors/subcontractors, and landlords, building rapport and dealing with any issues swiftly as they arise

  • Develop policies, processes and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative and contract requirements are fulfilled

  • Manage day to day operations of the Asset Management team (comprising four people), providing guidance and encouraging teamwork

  • Solve problems quickly and look for and manage the rapid implementation of value add opportunities to include e.g. lease extensions, optimised grid usage, and add on technologies

  • Negotiate new Operations and Maintenance contracts with selected contractors

  • Monitor and influence all maintenance and operations for the assets, ensuring any maintenance work remains within budgeted time and cost

  • Support the development of analytical tools to manage the output/performance of assets, leading to superb management information and reporting dashboards

  • Assess performance trends of each asset and use this information to inform decisions around optimisation

  • Manage and co-ordinate any contract modifications

  • Provide assistance in due diligence process, including review of financial and operational assumptions

  • Work closely with internal corporate finance team and help negotiate and communicate with all parties in the process of acquiring or disposing of assets

  • Help to further the goals of the Asset Management team to become a profit centre

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

 

  • The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of very relevant energy/infrastructure experience

  • Investment Management experience would be preferable

  • Experience of running a small team

  • Ability to develop a genuine rapport and long term partnerships

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely – verbally and in writing

  • Look for better ways to do things; you have helped to improve processes and systems

  • Able to quickly identify and focus on what is technically relevant

  • 25 days paid holiday per calendar year
