Job description
I’m thrilled to be assisting my client in hiring multiple professionals into their accounting team! The title of these individuals ranges from Senior Accountant to Accounting Manager based on experience.
The company is a high-growth utility-scale energy storage firm backed by one of the biggest financiers in the industry. They have approximately 1.5 GW of large-scale utility-contracted battery storage projects in development. They are actively working on a pipeline of nearly 20 GW, with projects nearing 500 GW each.
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting & Controller, the Senior General Ledger Accountant will perform a wide range of accounting duties as part of the team and autonomously within the Finance and Accounting team. The Senior General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining an accurate general ledger, preparing financial statements, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues, as well as reviewing work performed by other staff.
Key Responsibilities
Financial statement preparation, review, and reporting of results of operations, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flow, and Partners’ Capital Accounts.
Responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations, revenue invoicing, fixed assets, accounts payable, assist in the creation of financial statements and variance analyses.
Ensure customer billings and expenses for operating projects are processed and recorded/accrued timely each month.
Accurately manage intercompany transactions and monthly reconciliations for elimination and consolidation.
Prepare quarterly or annual financial statements to comply with financial reporting requirements under the agreements with 3rd parties such as tax equity investors, and lenders/banks.
Assists in the annual financial audit by providing support for items selected by external auditors, as well as preparation of draft reports.
Identify and assist in the implementation of needed improvements in processes affecting the Accounting Team.
Collaborate with Treasury on cash management, LC issuances, amendments, cancellations, debt payments, partnership distributions and ad hoc reporting.
Perform ad-hoc projects as needed, including those which may involve complex or advanced accounting concepts. Support other departments with any financial information needed.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
A minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in Accounting or related field required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field required.
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus but not a requirement).
Experience with multi-entity structures. Accounting experience with partnerships and consolidations is preferred.
Technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting issues, consolidations, US and foreign GAAP issues, foreign currency translation, multiple corporate structures, equity, and investment accounting.
Commitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for monthly and quarterly reporting, and special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines with professional follow-through and minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong communication skills.
Self-starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willingness to ask questions, and taking ownership of projects.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Team player and collaborates well with other teams in the organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Renewable energy industry experience is a plus.
