Job description

Our client is one of the world’s leading OEMs with over 30 years of experience in manufacturing highly efficient wind turbines for global onshore markets. South Africa is a key market for our client, where the company is the leader in terms of generation capacity in construction and under operation. The Sales Manager shall lead and manage sales functions within the South African organization.

The role scope covers sales of equipment and services associated. To properly achieve the targets of this role, the Sales Manager must have a high level of interaction with all market stakeholders, getting the right contacts and being precisely informed of market needs and competitive intelligence.

The Sales Manager is responsible for judging, qualifying and reporting about opportunities in terms of profitability, probability of success and timings. The individual will be the public face of The company for all topics related to business development and will represent the company in public events and associations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

Management of Sales Activities
  • Full responsibility and accountancy for Sales of wind turbine generators and services associated with it

  • Full responsibility for O&M Sales activities

  • Lead the back-office team

  • Pricing strategy

  • Product strategy in the market

Market Intelligence and Front Office Relationship
  • Be the leading point of interface between customers and the company.

  • Maintain and improve relationships with customers and stakeholders

  • Create regular and fluent channels of communication with customers

  • Create genuine and trustful relationships

Opportunities Leadership
  • Responsible and accountable for the company attending RFIs and RFQs

  • Responsible and accountable for proactive proposals in line with sales strategy

  • Responsible and accountable for deliverables on due time and form

  • Responsible for proposing the right solution for customers, and maximizing the profitability of the operation

  • Lead customer with internal team support during contractual negotiations

  • Ensure proper reporting & lessons learnt exercises after closing a project or after losing a deal.

Reporting
  • Responsible for keeping updated CRM platform

  • Responsible for the team prioritising internally the tasks as per business priorities

  • Reporting of market intelligence and potential improvement actions

Value Proposition and Competitive Analysis
  • Responsible for doing an accurate process of value proposition before proposing solutions to customers

  • Active collection of feedback and market information about market trends and competition value proposal

Company Representation
  • Represent the company in associations and sector events

  • Be part of the strategy of communications

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is required

  • MBA will be valuable

  • Experience in Sales of Wind Energy Equipment and Services

  • Experience in the South African market REIPPP auction program and Private PPA

  • Previous experience in the wind industry before Sales will be valuable

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Good communicator oral and written (fluent in English. Valuable Afrikaans and Spanish)

  • Ability to create genuine and trustful relationships

  • Ability to present key concepts in an executive manner to internal stakeholders

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Planning, prioritizing and time management skills

  • High capacity of analysis and processing inputs

  • Comfortable with multicultural environments
