Job description

The Opportunity:

A leading global energy transition company are developing a portfolio of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects to support the establishment of green energy and green product industries around the world.

The company are looking for a Funding Manager to lead as the funding single point of contact for the business cases across Europe, and assist with project business cases and provide supporting financial analyses to the Group Manager, funding for energy and infrastructure developments.

Salary: £150,000+ plus bonus

The role:

  • Guide the structuring of transaction funding from the start of the development process through the successful closing of an asset financing, investment, or funded acquisition as supported by the Group Funding team.

  • Provide structuring and funding guidance throughout the business development process, advising on commercial agreements, risk allocation, bankability of contracts, financing alternatives, and expected investment returns.

  • Manage internal stakeholders to maintain financial model assumptions, while retaining responsibility for the accuracy and correct incorporation of relevant local inputs to such models.

  • Negotiate the key financial terms of transaction documents.

  • Manage multiple parties including banks, consultants, lawyers, and internal stakeholders to successful close.

  • Manage interactions with internal project managers and external due diligence partners to support the Group Head of Funding with the structuring, negotiating, and execution of transactions and the implementation of project financing plans.

The Individual:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering.

  • Masters, MBA, CFA, and/ or equivalent certifications are an advantage, but not a necessity.

  • Experience conducting investment and project finance analysis in the renewable energy sector at a developer, fund, bank, or consultant.

  • Must have European and international experience and have worked for a leading project finance institution in an advisory capacity.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and utilising detailed financial models, including a project finance and accounting component.

  • Experience advising on, structuring, and closing sophisticated project finance transactions, including due technical diligence, and reviewing, and negotiating legal documentation.
