Job description

  • Conceptualize and develop new and innovative opportunities/projects to improve yield, efficiency, reliability and or profitability to the business.

  • Keep up to date with scientific research in the relevant fields and where applicable present findings to the technical team and wider business.

  • Conduct projects to further develop the business – plan and conduct required experiments and present finings in a report.

  • Perform Biomethane Potential (BMP) tests on anaerobic digestion (AD) feedstocks, evaluate results and present findings in a report.

  • Perform residual biomethane potential (RBP) tests on anaerobic digestate and present findings in a report.

  • Perform routine tests on AD feedstocks and digesters

  • Undertake additional tests and small projects to improve operational efficiency and environmental compliance.

  • Plan, set-up and conduct experiments in lab-scale continuous reactors to analyse novel feedstocks and improve operational performance.

  • Provide analytical support across the business (e.g., QA testing).

  • Assist in lab management through stock management and routine equipment check.

The above is a summary of the key duties the jobholder is expected to perform. The R&D unit is expanding, and additional functions might be added in the near future. It is possible that from time to time you will be requested to carry out other duties which are not listed in this job description.
