Job description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards in the manufacturing of solar cells. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, analyzing defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quality engineering within the manufacturing sector and a solid understanding of quality control methodologies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of the company's quality policies by adhering to established standards and regulations.Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures specific to the solar cell production line.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement projects, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Analysis.
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications.
Provide timely feedback to production teams to address and rectify quality issues.
Analyze defects and non-conformances to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and utilize the Defect Sensitivity Analysis (DSA) system to align operational and inspection practices.
Ensure all quality control equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule regular calibrations and address any equipment issues.
Monitor and report on quality-related costs, including customer returns and scrap rates.
Assist in developing strategies to reduce quality-related expenses and meet cost targets.
Prepare and review quality engineering reports, including Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Experiment Sheets (EES), and 8R Reports.
Maintain accurate documentation of quality metrics and present findings to senior management.
Serve as a point of contact for customer quality inquiries and issues.
Collaborate with customers to resolve quality concerns and ensure their satisfaction.
Work closely with R&D, Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to address quality issues and support new product introductions.
Participate in cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and process optimizations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, or related field). Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the solar cell or semiconductor industries.
Strong understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
Proficiency in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Experience with quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Experience with quality management software and tools.
Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards related to solar energy and manufacturing.
