​This is a broad role which combines an element of selling and relationship management, often at a senior level. The Public Sector Sales Manager will work with internal stakeholders such as marketing, finance and our trading department to retain existing and attract new business alongside promoting the additional company products.

The Public Sector Sales Manager is expected to influence the wider B2B sales strategy, focusing on maximising sales efficiencies and introducing new products and services to meet overall B2B plan.

The Role:

  • Deliver agreed individual targets in line with overall B2B plan

  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate new framework agreements on an ongoing basis

  • The ongoing compliance/maintenance of the framework agreement, including regular contract reviews

  • Deliver excellent customer service through strong relationships with our partners, understanding their needs and working with them in order to achieve targets

  • Provide quotations for both Gas and Power contracts, from the initial tender, through the negotiation and acceptance stages

  • Create and communicate compelling new ideas whilst gaining the support of senior management

  • Work with other departments to cross promote the company brand and products

  • Act as the primary liaison for our partners and direct customers when required up to a senior level

  • Develop and implement new ideas when approaching a new client base

  • Work with the commissions team to implement bespoke arrangements to gain acquisition of new clients where required – some of which may be complex

  • Support the launch of new products and services – taking any opportunity to cross-sell

  • Support back-office in providing aftersales support and customer care

  • Attend off-site client meetings and events when required

  • Integral role in new business pitches, securing of contracts and responsibility for the effective registration of new clients

  • Various standard and ad-hoc reporting (including providing detail on all KPI’s to HOBG upon request)


The Individual:

  • Excellent understanding of energy industry

  • Strong skill level in Excel, PowerPoint SAP or similar CRM

  • Strong communication with ability to communicate to a senior level of stakeholder

  • Awareness of the Public Sector B2B energy market
