The Green Recruitment Company are pleased to be supporting our Client in searching for a prospective wind developer. Our client is a global player with a significant presence in the Australian market with a long history of success in renewables overseas.

 

The successful candidate will focus on existing wind projects across the East Coast as well as building out new projects across Australia. You will also put your experience towards bolstering the client’s renewables portfolio by fostering positive relationships and engaging with new and existing stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of greenfield processes specifically land-owner negotiations to planning/environmental approvals as well as grid connection.

 

Although wind sector experience is advantageous our client is also looking to take on candidates with other renewables/energy industry experience who are wanting to get into a development type role.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide leadership and direction on all aspects of project development and work closely with Development and O&E teams towards successful development, implementation and management of projects.
  • Management and maintenance of a diverse range of external and internal stakeholder relationships, including public consultation as required, negotiation and finalisation of property agreements, etc.
  • Maintain project development plans and manage projects to time, quality and budget.
  • Negotiate and/or manage land lease arrangements while establishing rapport and successful relationships with project landowners.
  • Identify project risks and solutions for coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the procurement and activities of consultants contracted to undertake specific development scopes.
  • Assist in the evaluation of project/investment opportunities including site visits, estimation of cost, consideration of constraints, constructability, generation potential and stakeholder relationship.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of detailed feasibility assessments throughout the process to gain approvals to proceed.
  • Assist the construction team with hand-over of the stakeholder engagement and all residual development related matters and secondary approvals before and during the construction process.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with renewable energy projects specifically exposure to project development and landowner liaison.
  • Degree qualifications in business management, commerce, planning, engineering or science
  • Ability to liaise with regulators, government entities and stakeholders is necessary.
  • Experience in a project management role with a proven track record of managing inputs from a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to develop plans with regards to project status, timeline, risk assessment, budget and performance with utmost clarity.
  • Demonstrated strengths in negotiation to positively influence outcomes and decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically and laterally with an emphasis on commercial acumen.
  • Available to travel regularly to prospective project sites, as required.
