Job Title: Project Officer - President's Office

Location: Beijing, China

Type of Contract: Full-time, fixed-term

Duration: 2 years (with possibility of extension)

About the organization:

Our client is a leading international environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to protect the natural environment and promote sustainable development globally. They have been operating in China for many years, with a growing team and a diverse range of environmental programs and projects.

About the role:

The Project Officer will work closely with the President's Office team to support the development, management, and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives. The role will involve working on a range of environmental issues, including climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on environmental issues and provide recommendations to the President and senior management team

  • Coordinate and manage project activities, including project planning, budget management, and reporting

  • Support the development of project proposals, including conducting feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement, and writing project narratives

  • Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and events with partners, stakeholders, and donors

  • Support the President in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and business partners

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the President's Office team, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and managing files


  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, international development, or a related field

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in project management or a related field, preferably in the environmental sector

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise reports and presentations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Experience working in a multicultural and international environment is highly desirable

  • Passion for environmental sustainability and commitment to the organization's mission
