Job description

The Opportunity 

A rare opportunity to join a global leader in the development and management of international large-scale solar projects and smart energy technology, with operations across Europe, Latin America and Africa.

The Role

  • Identifying Project and Partnership opportunities to grow pipeline
  • Prospecting large sites for ground mounted PV projects
  • Managing development process for secured projects
  • Research grid status and availability and liaise with DNOs
  • Negotiating sub-contractor roles responsibilities and contracts
  • Negotiating key development contracts
  • Identifying, negotiating and managing co-development agreements
  • Analysing and reviewing commercial viability based on projects’ technical design and costing
  • Market research
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of local market legislation, regulations, support schemes etc
  • Managing local development partners
  • Internal pipeline management and reporting
  • Financial analysis of opportunities
  • Delivering developed RTB projects to defined budget and schedule
  • Identifying and closing project acquisitions
  • Presenting projects to the internal investment committee
  • Defining development budgets
  • Managing costs and cashflow within the development budget
  • PPA and SPA negotiations

The Person 

Must have :

  • University Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Sciences.
  • An experienced renewable energy professional with a track record of successfully managing the development of multiple projects, with a focus on pre- & post consent stage up to financial close.
  • A thorough understanding of the commercial/environmental/regulatory challenges facing all stages of wind project development and the renewable energy industry. 
  • A strong basic understanding of financial aspects of power generation projects with experience of working closely with financial analysts in the preparation and updating of financial models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to travel frequently in the UK & Ireland (when necessary).
