Job description
A company in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Project Manager/Project Engineer to manage the execution of utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This role covers the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through commissioning and includes responsibilities across engineering review, EPC oversight, and procurement support.
What You’ll Do:
Manage project execution from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Commercial Operation Date (COD)
Oversee EPC contractor performance, schedules, budgets, and risk
Conduct design and technical reviews for PV, BESS, substations, and interconnection
Support procurement with vendor evaluations and equipment reviews
Coordinate with development, finance, O&M, and permitting teams
Maintain project documentation, ensure compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, etc.) or construction management
5+ years of renewable energy project experience, with at least 3 years in utility-scale solar and/or BESS
Deep understanding of EPC project delivery and grid-tied systems
Proficiency with reading and reviewing technical drawings and specifications
Strong project management skills—schedule, cost, and quality oversight
Familiarity with permitting, AHJs, and utility interconnection processes
Advantageous:
PMP or similar project management certification
Knowledge of SCADA, controls, and monitoring for renewables
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards
Experience using MS Project, Smartsheet, AutoCAD, and PVSyst
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certifications
