Job Title: Renewable Energy Construction Project Manager

Position Overview: As a Renewable Energy Construction Project Manager, you will lead the execution and delivery of renewable energy construction projects in Calgary, Alberta. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of renewable energy construction projects from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.

  • Coordinate and supervise construction activities, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, quality standards, and safety protocols.

  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and manage project risks and changes effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, building codes, safety standards, and company policies throughout the construction process.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety meetings, and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of construction performance.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships including engineers, contractors, regulatory authorities, and local communities to facilitate project success and mitigate conflicts.

  • Prepare and present project status updates, reports, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and practices to optimize project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management within the renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, construction methods, project planning, and execution processes.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with construction management software.

  • Knowledge of Alberta's construction regulations, environmental requirements, and permitting processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects such as solar farms, wind farms, or hydroelectric facilities.

  • Familiarity with energy storage technologies and their integration into renewable energy projects.
