Job description

Seeking a seasoned Project Manager that can lead a team managing a portfolio of large projects simultaneously from the board room to the field. The ideal candidate will be accustomed to working in the field as well as in client-facing corporate settings.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for developing and executing the best possible outcomes regarding cost, schedule, and scope to our customers.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered safely and environmentally/regulatory compliant and on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects
  • Develop comprehensive project plans from inception to completion to be shared with key stakeholders
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, schedules and develop business cases
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation for projects
  • Perform risk evaluation to identify and minimize potential risks and track risks throughout the project
  • Prepare and review contracts and bid packages.
  • Work with legal and explain the contract and technical matters to others in a clear manner
  • Interface with and monitor contractors on project schedule, budget, technical issues
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure and track project performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques, make adjustments as needed, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver updates to leadership to report project progress, costs, and risks
  • Escalate issues to management in a timely manner and manage delays, emergencies, and problems that arise
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to establish project requirements upfront and assess/adjust throughout.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Up to 50% travel at times depending on project development

 

Required Skills and Candidate Qualities

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Must have experience in Power Generation and Utility-Scale Conversion Projects
  • 5 years of project management in utility-scale construction projects including project site management 
  • Must have a team-centered, goal-oriented work ethic with a proactive willingness to assist at the site level as needed
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze project options and develop economic cost analysis to aid in the selection of the most prudent resolution.
  • Experience leading a portfolio of large construction projects and seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Team building and conflict resolution attributes to pull together and utilize the personnel on a team effectively and efficiently
  • Customer service skills to listen, speak in a clear and concise manner in contact with people like the public, inspectors, and owners so that goals are met
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Financial acumen understanding project costs, Net Present Value, P&L’s, balance sheets, asset retirement obligations, etc.
  • Experience with scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
