Summary: 

Our client, a leading international solar company are currently recruiting for a Project Manager for their Sydney office to work on their Utility scale solar PV projects. This well respected global leader in holistic Solar PV solutions has an impressive portfolio of projects across Australia and are seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of solar PV projects project approval to handover

 

You will be working with both the Australian team and their international colleagues and the role will provide fantastic exposure to some of the most important solar PV projects built in Australia in the recent past.

 

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Solar PV professional to join a well-established, well respected international company with a proven track record of projects across Australia

 

The Role: 

The projects will be located in remote areas of Australia and fortnightly / monthly travel to the projects site/sites should be expected.

 

As Solar PV Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

 

·        Provide practical inputs to scope of works, project delivery methodology and design;

·        Provide technical advice and inputs to the development team

·        Support in the preparation and management of request for proposal processes;

·        Assist in the preparation and negotiation of EPC contract;

·        Assist in the financial close of any projects;

·        Preparation of construction management plans

·        Management of the owners engineer and site representative;

·        Management of construction phase related consultant;

·        Review the overall contractual requirements for all projects and specific process design methodology for individual projects as required

·        Reviewing the contractor’s site progress, safety management, quality, environmental compliance;

·        Monitoring adherence to the site management plans during construction;

·        Reviewing construction quality, inspection and test plans, site diaries and site documentation;

·        Reviewing HSE plans with HSE manager and undertaking site safety inspections;

·        Ensuring contractor’s compliance with conditions of consent relevant to the construction phase;

·        Responding to technical RFIs from the contractor;

·        Management of the generator registration process with AEMO;

·        Site coordination of outages with NSP and contractor;

·        Monitoring commissioning phase;

·        Liaising with landowners, community, local council stakeholders;

·        Monitoring the satisfaction of the financial and legal obligations;

·        Developing and managing punch lists and reviewing completion of punch list items,

·        Preparation of all weekly and monthly reports

·        Post construction (post practical completion):

·        Undertaking final project inspection

·        Draft asset management plans and procedures

·        Providing effective hand over to the Asset Manager

 

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

·  A project management qualification

·    Experience working on utility scale solar PV projects in Australia

·   Understanding of construction methodologies

·        Understanding of the management of a construction process in Solar PV

·        Knowledge of the O&M requirements for solar assets
