Job description
Our clients goal is to develop world class renewable energy assets in markets where we can make a real difference. They bring extensive experience to a diverse development platform. They develop assets in transitioning mature markets, supporting the global shift to a sustainable energy future.
They have established a portfolio of renewable energy projects across four countries with a capacity of 4 GW. Their team has grown to 40 staff in the past two years, and they continue to expand.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Development Manager to join their dynamic team in Helsinki. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the development of Onshore Wind Greenfield projects from inception to execution. With a deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape in Finland, you will spearhead project feasibility assessments, permitting processes, stakeholder management, and overall project coordination.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end project development activities for Onshore Wind Greenfield projects, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, timeline, and budget.
Conduct thorough feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource analyses to identify suitable project sites and assess their potential.
Oversee permitting and regulatory compliance processes, collaborating with relevant authorities to secure required permits and licenses.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and governmental bodies to ensure project support and alignment.
Manage project risks and opportunities, proactively identifying challenges and implementing mitigation strategies.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, legal, and environmental specialists to ensure seamless project progression.
Prepare and present project updates, reports, and proposals to internal and external stakeholders, including investors and partners.
Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and policy changes to ensure our projects remain aligned with evolving market dynamics.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Fluent in Finnish and English, with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects, ideally in the Finnish energy landscape.
Strong understanding of land acquisition, permitting, regulatory frameworks, and environmental considerations related to renewable energy projects in Finland.
Demonstrated ability to engage and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local communities, authorities, and investors.
Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Self-driven, organized, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility for occasional travel within Finland as required.
