Job description

​Green Recruitment has partnered with a globally recognised renewables utility power generator with a strong presence in Perth, Australia. Our client is at the forefront of the energy transition and decarbonization vehicle with a diverse portfolio across a range of different asset classes. We are actively searching for a Senior Development Manager with a proven track record of delivering utility scale assets from conception to financial close to assist in cultivating the businesses existing pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greenfield Development: Lead the development of utility-scale renewable projects from inception to commercial operation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

  2. Site Identification and Evaluation: Identify potential greenfield sites for renewable project development, conduct feasibility studies, and assess site suitability based on technical, environmental, and regulatory considerations.

  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with local communities, government agencies, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure project success and obtain necessary permits and approvals.

  4. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling, to guide the successful execution of each development phase.

  5. Permitting and Compliance: Work closely with regulatory bodies and consultants to navigate the permitting process, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and secure necessary approvals for project development.

  6. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial modelling, including project valuation, cost analysis, and revenue projections, to evaluate the economic viability of greenfield projects and support decision-making.

  7. Team Management: Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental specialists, legal advisors, and consultants, to achieve project milestones and objectives.

  8. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify project risks and develop effective strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the established timelines and budget.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering utility-scale renewable projects, preferably in the Australian market.

  • Strong knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including an understanding of solar, wind, and energy storage technologies, as well as relevant policies and regulations.

  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Sound financial acumen and experience in financial modelling and project valuation.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups and build strong relationships.

  • Knowledge of environmental impact assessments, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects in Western Australia.

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, work independently, and make informed decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
