Summary:

An international renewable energy IPP are seeking a Project Developer for their Melbourne office. With a strong pipeline of wind projects under development, this is a great opportunity for an experienced renewable energy professional to join a well-respected, well established Australian entity.  

 

Your responsibilities:

As Project Developer you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the development of various projects within the company project pipeline 
  • Manage projects through to financial close 
  • Manage external consultants in order to facilitate activities related to project development 
  • Coordinate the inputs of internal teams throughout the development stages 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders including AEMO, NSPs, Consultants, Contractors, and OEMs
  • Lead on contract negotiation for key stages of the development process
  • Keep up to date with industry policy and legislation and assist in briefings to the wider team on issues affecting development and project viability

 

 

Skills, qualifications and experience required from you: 

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in development of renewable projects
  • Experience in the development wind projects in Australia
  • Understanding of the NEM, and key legislation and regulation related to renewable
  • A relevant academic background in a relevant field e.g. Engineering, Planning, Business, Finance etc
  • Contract negotiation experience with planning agreements, environmental permits etc 
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement with key groups in the development process
  • An understanding of the Australian grid connection process (desirable) 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders 
  • Eligibility to live and work in Australia
