Job description

​The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be supporting, our client, an experienced investor and developer of renewable technologies including Solar, Battery Storage, EV and Hydrogen projects looking for a Project Developer.

This role shall help the business drive the UK’s transition to net zero through renewable energy and sustainable investment.

The focus of this position will be to assist external advisers and partners to drive current Solar and BESS pipeline, from early-stage landowner engagement to fully consented Ready to Build (RtB) status.

The role will be flexible, working between the Milton Keynes office, home and projects, with travel a vital factor.

Brief overview of responsibilities:

  • Propel the company’s growth strategy across all renewables through identification of new development opportunities in EV, solar, battery and hydrogen with within the UK and Northern Ireland.

  • Oversight of our current projects.

  • Responsible for the necessary permits and agreements such as planning, legal and environmental consents.

  • Managing the development process.

  • Organise external consultants to drive the Legal, Technical and Planning process.

  • Negotiation of legal documentation including Options Agreements and Heads of Terms as well as DNO budget review for investment, responsible for commercial decisions.

  • Communication with the board and other stakeholders in regard to deal prospects and progress.

  • Oversight of relationships with all relevant stakeholders, landowners and grid operators to negotiate key contracts including permits, grid offers and land rights.

Skills & Experience;

  • Proven track record in the renewable energy sector (at least 5-10 years’ + experience) with particular focus on Solar and BESS.

  • Ability to build and manage a team.

  • Utility scale solar and battery energy experience.

  • Strong energy market awareness.

  • Ability to understand the key commercial aspects of energy projects as well as be able to articulate key commercial, technical and legal risks for projects and their potential impact on investor returns.

  • Demonstrable track record at managing multiple workstreams concurrently and delivering on tight deadline.

  • Full driving licence
