The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a successful international renewable energy developer and adviser with core interests in Solar PV. They are currently developing a 1.8 GW portfolio across Europe and The United States with a significant amount of MWs currently under construction across North Carolina and a strong pipeline coming up in Texas.  

The position is for a Project Controls Manager who will be a key contributor to the EPC Projects Team in controlling the projects execution as per the business plan in terms of costs and scheduling. The successful candidate will be expected to develop the relevant tools, processes, methodologies and documentation information. 

The Role 

  • Support the company in defining, selecting and deploying the future ERP system
  • Elaborate the Project Life Cycle process , Execution Milestones definition and associated deliverables
  • Preparation of CAPEX detailed budget during the projects development phase
  • Tracking of CAPEX costs during execution phase and release of monthly updates
  • Analyse inventory audits and material consumption
  • Control the EPCM Team budget  
  • Build detailed portfolio construction schedules and issue monthly updates
  • Definition and implementation of project controls tools and documentation : Dashboard,     S Curve , Risk Matrix , templates
  • Preparation of Customer reports ( Steering Committees)
  • Execution of Customer Service Agreement : payment draw requests , milestones document submission
  • Execution of Suppliers and Contractors agreement : construction reports analysis , supplier invoice notification
  • Manage the Project documents database
  • The Project Controls Manager will be supported by a Project Controls Analyst and a Scheduler
  • He/She will work closely with the Construction Team, Supply Chain Team as well as the Finance / Accounting Team
  • The role will be located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will report to the EPC Projects Director

The Person 

  • Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Bachelor and/or Business administration
  • 8 years experience minimum in EPC projects control and / or Project Management
  • Solar Industry background valuable but not necessary. Conventional Power Generation would be fine. 
  • Strong knowledge of PM Handbook
  • Ability to travel (10 to 20 % of the time)
  • Proficient with Excel , Microsoft Projects, ERP systems, DMS
