​Interested in joining a growing multinational business and taking a central role in one of Europe’s leading renewable energy trading teams? We’re looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join our Physical Asset Management (PAM) team, that can help us meet our high ambitions for growth and help move energy into a fully renewable future.

The vision of the PAM team is to create the finest valuation and pricing engine in the industry that continuously shapes and supports the valuation needs of changing physical energy products and solutions. Together with our Asset Hedging department the PAM team ensures that we constantly manage the commodity risks of the company and clients.

This role can be based out of any of our European offices or remote in Italy. Your team will be based out of our Aalborg office.

About the role:

As our new Portfolio Manager, you will be commercially responsible for our physical Power Purchase Agreements, including wind, solar and hydro PPAs, production and grid-scale consumption as well as renewable flexibility. You will be our expert on the Italian and possibly other southern European markets and ensure profitable contracts with third-party asset owners through precise physical risk valuation, pricing, portfolio optimization and improvement of internal management processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay up to speed with market developments and engage in product and business development initiatives and task forces.

  • Consult with traders and analytics teams to improve tactics, and drive the improvement of cross-value chain processes.

  • Analyse and identify the steps we need to take to enter new markets.

  • Follow up on the performance of our physical asset portfolios, and provide suggestions and actions to optimize these.

  • Work strategically with internal stakeholders in Market Access, Origination, Regulatory etc.

  • Develop partnerships with external stakeholders to initiate presence in new markets .

  • You will take a holistic approach to the role, keeping a keen eye on physical market risks, but also assessing other factors in your analytical work.

The Candidate:

You are a market and product expert, and you will play a central role in making sure this critical understanding is kept updated and cascaded across the organization. Team spirit and thriving with communication is key - with your constant eye to the market development and valuation competencies.

  • Hold a degree with focus on analytical subjects.

  • Have some experience as a power trader or portfolio manager from a similar position focusing on the Italian and southern European markets.

  • Understand the drivers of the energy market as well as the changes and transition that will impact the industry in the coming years.

  • Be proactive and analytically minded team player with knowledge of physical power markets .

  • On a personal level you work independently and write and speak English fluently to communicate across all layers of the organization, across cultures and with external market players.
