Job Title: Offshore Wind Procurement Manager - WTG (Freelance)
Location: Europe
Pay Rate: £600 per day
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Wind Procurement Manager - WTG to manage the procurement activities for the wind turbine generators (WTG) for an offshore wind farm project in Europe. As a freelance Procurement Manager, you will work closely with the project team to ensure that all WTG procurement activities are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner, and that all procurement-related activities are carried out in compliance with the project requirements. You will be responsible for managing the procurement team, ensuring that all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the procurement activities for the wind turbine generators (WTG) for the offshore wind farm project, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner
Ensure that all procurement-related activities for the WTG are carried out in compliance with the project requirements, including sourcing, bidding, and negotiating contracts
Manage the procurement team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that procurement schedules for the WTG are met and projects are delivered within budget
Conduct regular audits of the procurement processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors related to the WTG, ensuring that all parties are meeting the project's requirements and expectations
Prepare and present regular reports on the procurement activities related to the WTG to the project team and management
Manage the procurement documentation related to the WTG, ensuring that all records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date
Participate in project meetings related to the WTG and provide regular updates on procurement activities and issues
Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience in procurement management, preferably in the offshore wind industry in Europe, with a focus on WTG
Knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures related to procurement in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on WTG
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of procurement professionals
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines and changing priorities
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field is preferred
Certification in procurement management is a plus
Working Conditions:
This is a freelance position for the duration of the offshore wind farm project, expected to be 12-18 months in length
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, but may require travel to project sites related to the WTG as needed
Work schedules may vary and require weekend or overtime work, as needed
