Overview

The Green Recruitment Company are working alongside one of the leading Renewable Energy businesses in their search for an Offshore Wind Farm Development Manager.

The Client

The client is an international developer that has focused on renewable development since inception. They are well renowned for their high-quality standards and consistent business development. They are highly regarded in the sustainability space; being a transparent, fair and honest firm.

Responsibilities:

Budget:

  • Calculate, define and manage budgets, incl. updates and cost reporting processes (NPV, LCOE, IRR, DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX)
  • Ensure consistency between budget, forecast, and controlling processes
  • Approve scopes of work and technical specifications to ensure that the project meets legal specifications and quality standards
  • Ensure establishment of adequate quality control management
  • Ensure record keeping and documentation management are implemented in an effective and efficient manner pursuant to project financing requirements

Risks:

  • Propose and manage project risks assessment, risk controlling and risk reporting processes
  • Consistently identify, evaluate, and monitor project risks and develops and implements risk mitigation strategies
  • Liaise and support Senior Management to identify contractual and other project risks and securing adequate mitigations, insurance and liability protection

Planning:

  • Propose and manage all project planning and scheduling activities
  • Collaborate with the engineering and construction manager to develop the most efficient construction plan (schedule, contractors, site team, etc.) to achieve safe, quality, on schedule and on budget construction works
  • Prepare and manage suitable reporting methods regarding time schedule and progress

Coordination:

  • Institute proper communication among all internal and external project stakeholders
  • Manage handover of the completed facility (incl. all project related documents) to the project owner
  • Coordinate efficient internal procedures with all managers within the team to secure that all decisions are optimal for the purpose and for all parties

Qualifications:

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Offshore Energy Project Engineering, Construction or Operations
  • 5 years of experience in Project or Contract Management/Development/Construction with high value projects

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities - required:

  • Expert knowledge of cost control philosophy and methodologies, estimating, change management, and document controls procedures
  • Outstanding interpersonal oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Experience with Project Development Practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple prime and subcontractor relationships simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to manage team members from all fields of expertise
  • High energy, self-motivated, client focused individual

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities - preferred:

  • Previous experience in energy development offshore, specifically Renewable Energy projects
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project application, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Extensive experience with Budgets/Scheduling, risk evaluation and statistical modelling
  • Project Management Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • This employment has physical demands – such as lifting, climbing, standing, stooping, etc.
  • This employment requires occasional presence on ocean-going vessels

Working Conditions:

  • At least monthly travel to project site(s) is required (min. 25% of timetable)
