Job description
TGRC is working with a global company specialised in O&M services for the renewable energy sector. They are looking to hire an O&M technician that will cover various responsibilities, including monitoring different processes, guaranteeing the safety on site and ensuring and maintaining performance of software and equipment.
Responsibilities
Become proficient with customer’s site and Industry Safety Programs and standards.
Stop unsafe work, report and correct unsafe conditions or hazards.
Be proficient in NSPS’s safety culture and industry safety regulations.
Complete site permitting processes, including participating in pre-job safety brief securing and isolating equipment under LOTO (Lockout Tagout) for maintenance purposes.
Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in repair of DC, low voltage AC, data acquisition and meteorological station PV systems components.
Learn and qualify to perform switching operations on High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems and equipment, including substation equipment and overhead transmission systems, as applicable.
Monitor activities being performed by contractors at the site.
Monitor plant equipment and systems for safe, reliable, and efficient performance within scope of
responsibility.
Monitor, obtain, and review data from instrumentation located throughout the site, looking for variances that are outside normal operating standards and procedures. Reviews logs and documents and reports discrepancies to the O&M Coordinator Italy.
Based upon Operating Control Team input, safely assist/investigate/perform operation of site equipment as instructed by the O&M Coordinator Italy in order to adjust and maintain proper operation of equipment and systems.
Support the Supply Chain Process at Site Level and supervise the Warehouse processes if requested.
Assist/perform routine maintenance of site equipment and respond to variances as instructed by O&M Coordinator Italy.
Provide information for and learn the maintenance management system for entering/updating time, work orders and other maintenance work requirements.
Operate and maintain company vehicles according to the latest Vehicle Policy in place.
Manage the Inventory of the Company Warehouse and/or the Customer Sites.
Support in the development/review of all facility operations documentation (procedures, standing orders, system descriptions, O&M training, etc.).
Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned by the O&M Coordinator Italy.
Willing and available to work on scheduled and unscheduled overtime to maintain necessary plant readiness.
Must be able to respond to site events in accordance with site contractual requirements.
Be available to work on weekend if requested.
The individual
Technical High School Diploma or equivalent.
General knowledge of plant systems and the procedures related to operating systems.
General knowledge and understanding of the relationship between systems and equipment.
General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
Ability to read basic electrical one-line and plot plan drawings and use manufacturer technical manuals.
Practical knowledge of electrical systems, solar electric systems and their components.
Knowledge of building and structural construction techniques.
Ability to efficiently troubleshoot system failures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
General computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
At least 3 years of related experience in the Power Industry, or equivalent qualifications related to the discipline.
Ability to learn new software applications (i.e., CMMS, Maximo, etc.).
Must hold valid driver’s license.
Preferred English speaking, reading, and writing, and/or willingness to learn English.
