The Senior Manager - Technical Sales is the primary technical liaison between the Customer, Business Development, Operations, Commissioning, Performance Engineering, Account Management and other groups in O&M Services. This individual leads the Technical Sales efforts focusing on differentiation of service offering from its competition, service scope definition as well as supporting the integrating 3rd party assets into business operations. In addition, this role will support O&M sales efforts through taking the lead on selling O&M services to existing and potential customers in collaboration with the Business Development team.
Manage internal and external technical education/training in support of new product launch, new market entry, and new customer acquisition
Lead new business development activities for targeted parties
Perform technical due diligence on RFPs and new project opportunities and coordinate the generation of required response documents.
Develop and manage initiatives to engage cross-functional ES departments in reviewing technical RFP documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Serve as the technical liaison during the handoff process from Sales to various departments within ES. Ensure that each functional team understands their responsibilities under the contract.
Serve as a representative for the business with external parties including Independent Engineers, Technical Advisors, Utilities & Regulatory Authorities and other influential parties within the solar industry in helping to define and create standards for O&M services.
Be up to date on the technical aspects of new developments in PV and O&M industry as well as competitor activities. Develop new strategies in response to identified trends.
Attend customer meetings and perform site visits for PV plant feasibility and pre-engineering phase
Manage the strategic development and distribution of technical sales collateral focused on differentiation from competition and value generation. Present those materials at customer meetings, industry conferences as well as Webinars
5 years professional experience in a technical capacity within the power industry preferably in utility-scale solar O&M. Some experience in solar PV a must.
Proven record of accomplishment of being able to build strong external and internal relationships, business acumen and sales mindset.
Knowledge of or ability to learn the high-level design and performance analysis of PV Modules, PV systems, Grid Integration, Operation and Maintenance.
Experience/knowledge of solar power plant operations IT regulatory compliance as well as power plant performance analytics
Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects in parallel
