About the Company

Our client is a prominent renewable energy owner/operator with a rapidly growing portfolio of solar, wind, and hybrid energy assets across Asia. Headquartered in Beijing, the company is known for its strong technical capabilities and long-term commitment to driving the energy transition through innovation and excellence in asset management.

As part of its next phase of operational scale-up, the company is seeking a high-performing O&M Director to oversee the technical performance, compliance, and optimisation of its renewable energy operations.

Role Overview

The O&M Director will lead the company’s operations and maintenance strategy for a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets across China and select international sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective asset performance, while managing large cross-functional teams and external service providers.

An electrical engineering background, combined with a strong track record in renewable O&M leadership, will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall O&M strategy and execution for the company’s operational renewable energy assets

• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programmes to maximise uptime and performance

• Ensure strict compliance with local regulations, grid codes, and internal HSE standards

• Manage internal engineering and field service teams as well as third-party contractors

• Support CAPEX planning and budgeting for maintenance and system upgrades

• Oversee SCADA and remote monitoring systems to diagnose faults and optimise asset output

• Drive continuous improvement in asset management processes, cost control, and technical innovation

• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical electrical systems

• Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term asset performance planning and lifecycle management

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior O&M leadership role within the renewable energy industry

• Strong technical expertise in solar PV, wind, or hybrid renewable energy systems

• Electrical engineering background is preferred (Bachelor’s degree or higher)

• Excellent knowledge of grid operations, compliance, and performance monitoring systems

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-site teams and contractors

• Experience in the Chinese energy market required; international project exposure is a plus

• Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English
