M&A Manager – Energy Storage - Houston

Location: Houston, TX

We’re delighted to be partnered exclusively with an exciting battery storage IPP in their search for an M&A Manager/Director.

The firm develops, owns and operates grid scale battery storage assets ranging from 50-200MW. The company has grown substantially since starting up in 2016 and now have over 50 employees across the US – a real mix of energy veterans, mid-career experts and young, ambitious talent.

Working with the CFO, this role will lead M&A efforts for the business, which spans from asset level acquisitions, managing potential JV partnerships and platform deals.

Main Responsibilities within this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform and coordinate the screening, origination, evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities

  • Perform and coordinate analyses of specific sectors/technologies and jurisdictions, covering elements such as regulation, political environment, overview of existing players, economics (return and valuation), etc.

  • Coordinate execution processes, review due diligence materials and review and negotiate transaction documentation

  • Perform and coordinate the preparation of materials for the Investment Committee, the Board of Directors, etc.

  • Join and support meetings internally and externally in respect of business development and transaction execution.

Your Profile:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a top-tier investment bank/PEE firm or infrastructure fund/top-tier IPP, ideally in an international renewable energy environment.

  • Proficiency in building/reviewing and sensitizing complex financial models in Excel.

  • Proficiency in composing presentations for decision-making support in PowerPoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset (think like an owner).

  • Self-motivated and highly detail oriented with a strong academic background.

  • Able to focus on the key issues, meet deadlines and think strategically, commercially, and critically.

  • Be able to write and speak English fluently.
