​Legal Director – MEA

About the Role

TGRC, on behalf of a global leader in the Renewable Energy industry, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Director to join an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) company. This pivotal role is based in Shanghai and focuses on managing and advising on legal matters across the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region.

Key Responsibilities

As the Legal Director – MEA, you will:

• Lead and Oversee: Manage the legal functions pertaining to the MEA region, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

• Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide strategic advice to senior management on business transactions, contracts, and potential legal risks in the MEA region.

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives and legal standards.

• Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, and other forms of dispute resolution, ensuring minimal risk exposure.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company’s operations in the MEA region comply with international and local laws, particularly in the fields of commercial, corporate, and employment law.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the global legal team and other departments, ensuring seamless legal support across regions.

• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring that the company’s interests are protected at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in international commercial law, with a strong focus on the Middle East & Africa.

• Educational Background: A law degree from a reputable institution, with additional qualifications or specializations in international law being an advantage.

• Regional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of legal systems and business practices within the MEA region.

• Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading legal teams and managing complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.

• Language Skills: Proficiency in English is essential, with additional languages such as Arabic or French being highly desirable.

• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive monthly salary in the range of 100,000-150,000 CNY, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
