Job description
Our client, a leading developer in the renewables sector, is excitingly in the process of building a significant portfolio of renewable energy projects with a focus on solar and wind energy to support the energy transition in Romania. As well as that, they are also bringing innovative renewable energy approaches such as hybrids, energy storage, agriPV and floating PV to the market.
With locations in around 30 countries, and a headcount of over 3,500 people globally, their Romania expansion is clear evidence that their growth and dominance in the renewables sector will continue to go from strength to strength.
About the role:
Due to their dynamic growth, they are looking for a Renewable Energy Legal Counsel in order to provide legal support for Romanian wind and solar projects.
What You Will Do:
You will provide comprehensive legal advice to the project team on the development and implementation of projects in the area of renewable energies, especially solar and wind projects for their Romanian market
You will draft and negotiate contracts for land securing, grid connection, acquisition, EPC, O&M and PPA
You will be engaged in procurement and review of permits and permissions
You will provide legal support on project financing contracts
You will draft, review and negotiate project sales contracts
You will research and advise on legal aspects of new and innovative technology approaches
You will procure, manage, and review legal advice provided by external law firms and manage legal budget
You will manage all corporate and legal documentation and ensure compliance with law and group policies as well as development of best practice
Your Profile:
4+ years' work experience as a Romanian qualified lawyer, ideally with expertise in renewable energy development topics;
Project development and property experience preferred; transactional experience also valuable
Previous working experience in the renewable business either in a law firm or a comparable inhouse-position preferred
Highly capable in negotiations and contract drafting as well as some experience of resolving disputes
Skilled in sensibly identifying and mitigating risks while balancing the same with commercial aspects
Hands-on and able to see the broader strategic / commercial path as well as a deep understanding of relevant transactions and documents
Self-motivated, multi-tasker able to being part and support interdisciplinary teams
You are technically and digitally inclined
Business fluent in Romanian and English
