Job description
The role of this position is to be the project lead for field service work. They are the primary contact for management and customers and will be partnered with training techs to develop strong skillsets.
Duties Include:
Project Lead-Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical issues and repair.
Train & Mentor entry level technicians
Daily time/ Per Diem submitting
Maintenance/Inventory of issued tooling and equipment
Complete and submit reports upon job completion
Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Technical Experience Required:
- Large corrective work – generator/gearbox changes
- Technical change-outs – bearings, blades, rotor release, wiring upgrades
- High-speed pinion exchanges, intermediate gear exchanges, and replace the gear itself
- GE or Hitachi generator experience
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experience in completing up tower generator repairs to include the following scopes of work: Bearing changes, Rotor Relead, AWA Electrical testing, Wye ring replacements. Extensive knowledge of multiple turbine platforms to include GE, Vestas, Siemens.
Qualified candidates must have a solid electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to understand, perform and retain various skill-related training, operational and safety procedures.
Must be willing to travel 100% of the time.
Ability to climb towers up to 350 feet and frequently handle, move, and/or lift repetitive weight up to 50 lbs.
Experience with and ability to lead and train other technicians in a professional and consistent manner.
Self-Leader with a focus on the quality of work and great customer service.
Essential Functions/Work Environment:
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Eyeglasses/contacts may be worn to aid in the use of the vision essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to feel or handle, and talk and/or hear.
The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is required to work at heights.
