Land Acquisition Manager - Solar PV

Our client, which originated as an intrapreneurship project and is now a subsidiary of a global leader in infrastructure, has the mission of unlocking the solar potential of companies and properties.

They specialise in the development, financing, construction and operation of solar photovoltaic

power plants on its client’s sites. They have developed an expertise in innovative power valuation

mechanisms and has several projects in its portfolio developed through Corporate Power Purchase

Agreements (on-site and off-site).

After securing 100MWp of projects in Sweden, they created an office in Stockholm in February

2023 with the objective of securing 500MWp of projects by 2025. The projects will be mainly utility-scale with a value in Off-Site Corporate PPA. Storage opportunities will also be explored.

In this context, they are looking to recruit a Land Acquisition Manager to perform site origination and participate in the development of this new market.

Your Mission:

As a Land Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for site development identifying a portfolio of projects through field prospecting:

  • Use GIS tools, layers, cartographic studies, databases and maps production to screen suitable sites

  • Door to door prospection on countryside and press advertisement in specialized newspapers to source landowners

  • Identify greenfield opportunities mapping areas for large-scale solar farms and co-location project considering environmental, technical constraints, CAB maps and municipality plans for renewable energy

  • Build relationships with landowners, local stakeholders (local authorities, energy companies, real estate companies), land agents, and land consultants

  • Perform site visit to confirm suitability and assess risks of the site

You will also work on processes to secure lands:

  • Find out about Swedish regulatory, administrative, environmental and technical rules in force to successfully perform site screening

  • Negotiate land lease agreements up to signature

  • Handle preliminary studies to valuate identified lands

Profile Required:

  • You have a 4/5-year university degree and have a thorough knowledge of the renewable energy market in Sweden or at least in the Nordics and the environment. Being graduated from a school of surveyors or topographers, would be a plus.

  • You have 5+ year experience in business development/development/sales of large-scale renewable energy projects or telecom, power lines or other infrastructures. Experience with Lantmäteriet property files, GIS (ArqGIS, QGIS or other similar softwares), data layers and maps, would be a plus.

  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills and have an aptitude for negotiation

  • Friendly, curious and dynamic, you are highly motivated to work in a start-up environment and take on multifaceted challenges.
