Job description
As the Investment Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our investment strategy within the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial markets, renewable energy technologies, and a proven track record in structuring and closing complex investment transactions.
The Role:
Develop and implement a comprehensive investment strategy for the renewable energy portfolio, aligning with the organization's overall objectives and risk tolerance
Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the renewable energy sector to guide investment decisions
Source, evaluate, and analyse potential investment opportunities in renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, hydro, and other clean energy technologies
Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective investments, assessing financial viability, technical feasibility, and regulatory considerations
Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investment returns, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analyses for renewable energy projects.
Assess and quantify risks associated with each investment opportunity and develop risk mitigation strategies
Lead negotiations with project developers, partners, and stakeholders to structure investment deals that align with the organization's financial objectives and risk profile.
Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Oversee the ongoing management and optimization of the renewable energy investment portfolio
Implement strategies to enhance the performance and profitability of existing assets
Communicate investment strategies, progress, and performance to internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external partners
Build and maintain relationships with industry players, financial institutions, and government agencies
Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of professionals involved in renewable energy investment activities
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
The Individual:
Masters's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or CFA designation is a plus
+ 10 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment management, or related fields in leading investment banking, PE or consultancy companies
Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in valuation techniques
Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing complex investment transactions.
In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and regulatory landscape
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Leadership experience with the ability to guide and inspire a team
Business Proficient in German and English, further language skills on a business proficient level are plus
