Job description

​The Green Recruitment Company is working with a growing renewable power producer to support their Project Finance and M&A team in New York City and Toronto. As an analyst, you will be working with their experienced leadership team and will be instrumental in supporting their extensive development pipeline of wind, solar, and energy storage projects across North America.

The ideal candidate will have experience in renewable energy or other real assets, project finance, investments, or project valuation, with an independent power producer (IPP) or renewable energy developer, investment bank, investment fund, or valuation consultant.

As a North American renewable power producer, the company manages an operating portfolio of over 1,200 MW of renewable power assets and oversees a growing development pipeline of over 10,000 MW of clean energy projects across the United States. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of one of the world’s largest retirement funds with investments in public equities, private equities, real estate, renewables, and other infrastructure and fixed income instruments with over $550 billion in assets as of December 2021.

The Role:

  • Perform financial modeling or analysis, support due diligence activities, and work interconnectedly with a deal team for project and portfolio acquisitions, joint ventures, and other development partnership opportunities.

  • Actively work on tax equity and debt project financing, performing modeling, assisting in financier due diligence, and transaction management.

  • Build, refine, and maintain financial models for in-house wind, solar, and energy storage development projects.

  • Assist in the evaluation and analysis of power offtake opportunities to determine offer pricing and structures with the support of commercial and development teams.

  • Prepare presentations regarding project acquisitions, project financing, and strategic project decisions.

The Individual:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, economics, or other relevant field of study.

  • 2-3 years’ relevant work experience (investment, finance, or valuation experience) within renewable energy, power, or other real asset industries (infrastructure, real estate, transportation, etc.)

  • Strong financial modeling skills required.

  • Ability to accurately communicate results of financial modeling in a concise and clear manner.

  • Passionate about renewable/clean energy with an interest in exploring U.S. power markets, along with wind, solar, and energy storage project development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to develop clear and effective presentation materials.

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada (dependent upon location).
