Job description
Purpose of the Role:
Our client, a leading investment fund in the renewables sector, is looking for an Investment Analyst to join their Italian investment team. It’s an exciting time for them as the company is at the beginning of the investment and capital-raising phase regarding the Southern Europe market. The role will involve working with senior colleagues across all stages of the investment lifecycle.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
3-24 months of work experience in a corporate finance focussed role
Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale) with excellent grades
Financial/investment focused background
Experience working in the renewable energy sector is preferred
Ability in building, modifying and carrying out scenario analysis in financial models
Analytical ability with excellent attention to detail
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Time management & organisation
Able to effectively work on multiple competing tasks and meet tight deadlines
High level of MS Excel and financial modelling;
Knowledge of the financial KPIs, investment lifecycle and renewable energy is a plus
Research experience / ability preferred
Fluent in English
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial modelling and analysis:
Develop, manage and analyse financial models to assess operational renewable energy projects and portfolios for Southern-Europe market (mainly Italian market);
Interpret, share and review modelling outputs with other team members;
Assist the team with data analysis to support investment decisions;
Assist with debt analysis and modelling;
Undertake quarterly, semi-annual and annual valuations of fund portfolios; and
Contribute to and eventually manage the development of asset and fund valuation models.
Investment support:
Analysing financial statements, market trends, and other data to assess the financial viability and potential returns of different investment opportunities;
Identify and develop new business opportunities that align with the fund's investment strategy;
Support with the preparation and submission of offers on projects and portfolios;
Conducting financial analysis and due diligence on potential M&A transactions;
Monitoring and reporting on the performance of existing investments; and
Monitoring and reporting of fund valuation and NAV.
Business development:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities
Support analysis of optimisation opportunities for the existing portfolio;
Follow and report on sector news and industry developments;
Investigate and research new markets;
Analyse and report on emerging technologies; and
Carry out competitor analysis.
