Job description
The Interface Engineer is a key role within the Offshore Renewables Business, performed in conjunction with the Interface Manager, focusing on the delivery of large-scale offshore wind projects in the US and overseas.
Belonging to the Engineering Management team and reporting to the Interface Manager, the
Interface Engineer will be responsible for implementing a robust, effective and efficient Interface Management strategy for the Project, complying with company and business engineering standards, and ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance are applied.
The candidate will be supporting the Interface Manager in managing the Interface Management activities across the Project to provide assurance that the Project will meet the desired overall design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning performance requirements thanks to a systematic approach to the identification, definition and management of interfaces.
DAY TO DAY
Implement and manage the Interface Management strategy and related processes in the Project.
Develop the detailed processes required for an effective management of interfaces, monitor its implementation and report status.
Define critical and complex interfaces in the Project, working with the respective packages to identify the most effective division of responsibilities and the required action plan to manage such interface.
Develop, with the support of the team, and manage the Project Master Division of Responsibilities Matrix of the Project, ensuring consistency through it.
Develop, with the support of a specialized firm, the software tool to be used to support the Interface Management Process, if deemed necessary.
Develop interface sketches to support the management of critical and complex interfaces involving several packages.
Conduct the execution of reviews of the Project Division of Responsibilities, Scope of Works and Design documentation to ensure alignment among them.
Finding opportunities and optimizations in order to reduce / improve project CAPEX, planning and risk profile.
Manage and resolve a range of technical/engineering issues within key packages on a day-to-day basis.
At short notice, act upon problems and ad-hoc projects without losing focus on major ongoing workload.
Advise Engineering Manager, Package Managers or Project Director on the impact of technical/specialist risks and issues, and the viability of solutions recommended.
EXPEIRENCE
5 years of experience performing or managing engineering activities in a large-scale Construction project
Experience with Document Management Systems / Databases and Good Organizational
Offshore Wind Energy project experience
Experience in delivery of large packages/projects, including contract management, program management, cost and risk control
Experience in dealing with health and safety and environmental legislation associated with construction, marine and offshore projects
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Work Experience in Projects involving Offshore Construction
Work Experience in Wind Farm Projects
Experience with Document Management Systems
