Job description
Job title: Head of Sustainable Asset Development
Location: London, England, United Kingdom (On-site)
TGRC is working with a global renewable energy developer, owner, and operator. They are looking for a Head of Sustainable Asset Development to oversee global development for solar, wind and BESS across multiple different global geographies.
Responsibilities
Identifying new solar, battery, and wind development opportunities alongside working with the Exec Management team to unearth new opportunities for growth;
Management of the Development team based in the UK;
Delivery of the necessary agreements and permits including legal, planning and environmental consents;
Overseeing and implementing the development process;
Coordinate external consultants supporting to delivery of Technical, Legal and Planning processes;
Negotiation of legal documentation for investments, taking responsibility for making commercial decisions;
Liaising with internal and external advisers and intermediaries on investments, keeping deals moving and driving through to completion
Maintaining regular communication with the CEO, attending board meetings and liaising with other stakeholders regarding deal prospects and progress;
Liaising with and managing relationships with all relevant stakeholders, grid operators, landowners and other relevant stakeholders to successfully negotiate key contracts such as land rights, permits, PPAs grid offers, etc
The Individual
Proven track record (at least 10-15 years experience);
Ability to build and manage a team;
Commercially astute with an entrepreneurial can-do/will-do attitude
Utility-scale solar and wind energy experience is mandatory;
Strong energy market awareness;
Ability to understand the key commercial aspects of energy projects as well as be able to articulate key commercial, technical and legal risks for projects and their potential impact on investor returns
Excellent contacts leading to a strong origination base
Proactive and highly motivated; a self-starter who can take ownership of key tasks and always looks for better and more efficient ways to do things
An interest in the energy investment sector as well as developments in the energy markets more generally
Precision and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to deal with people at all levels
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely – verbally and in writing
Demonstrable track record at managing multiple workstreams concurrently and delivering on tight deadlines
Flexible attitude and willingness to evolve with the business
