Head of Development Wind/Solar (m/w/d)

We are currently looking for an experienced renewable energy developer to join our client's team as the Head of Development, Germany. As our client expands into the German Market, your role will involve establishing their presence and overseeing the development of a portfolio of greenfield energy projects.

As the Head of Development, Germany your responsibilities will include:

Establishing the company's presence in the Germany market.

Being responsible for the origination, development, and acquisition of renewable energy projects in Germany; including:

  • Leading land-related matters throughout project development.

  • Securing grid connection offers.

  • Developing a planning-led project approach and engaging with key stakeholders. •

  • Boosting the commercial viability of each development site and demonstrating value optimization and deliverability.

  • Managing and reporting on all project risks and development expenditures.

  • Leading negotiations on consultancy contracts and landowner agreements to achieve best value.

  • Keeping recordings of site progression and ensuring efficient progress of new sites by junior team members.

  • Providing input on local M&A opportunities, project sales, and project purchases.

  • Recruiting and managing the project development team.

You will likely have the following skills and experiences:

  • Be a self-motivated team player with great communication skills and a structured way of working.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.

  • You’ll be proficient with MS Office and project management experience.

  • Commercial awareness of how design decisions and equipment specifications can affect the value of a project.

  • Bachelor’s / Masters Degree in related topic.

  • Track record in delivering projects from feasibility stage to ready to build stage.

  • Recruiting, managing and motivating a team.

  • Working location is flexible.

Salary and Benefits:
