Job description

The Client:

A leading renewable energy developer based in London that has covered a broad range of different technologies.

 

The Role:

You will manage and lead the grid intel and connections process and other key early stage project development tasks such as DNO/GNO liaison, and early project design.

 

In addition to your comprehensive understanding of the above elements you should be commercially oriented, have strong communication skills, ensuring that stakeholders across the business are supported.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Sourcing grid and gas intelligence from DNOs and National Grid
    • Arranging stakeholder liason
  • Maintaining connections in alignment with pipeline
  • Submitting and managing connection applications inclduing quotations, securing loads and managing existing application with relevant system / network operator
  • Reviewing grid and gas offers
    • Cost assessment
    • Risk analysis
    • Connection timescales review
    • Identifying Red flags 

 

Other responsibilities:

  • Assess project feasibility with company financial models
  • Fortnightly reporting
 

The Invidivual:

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

An ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Electrical engineering background with electrical/engineering qualifications
  • Worked within the energy industry for at least 2 years
  • Very organised, with an ability to autonomously manage multiple projects at once and meet individual targets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the DNO network
  • Robust understanding DNO connection applications and offers
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office
  • Well organised both in time management and record keeping
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Driven, with desire to succeed
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to be assertive when appropriate
  • A positive approach to challenges and problem solving

 

ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferable with a developer or DNO background
  • Currently working in the energy industry
  • Existing contacts within DNO/GNO
  • An understanding of the Gas network and an understanding of the process to securing gas
  • Business strategy, communication and project management
  • CAD skills (BricsysCAD) preferable but not essential
